No need to remove the Airbag Sensor from the vehicle. The VAG airbag resetter allows you to Reset your Airbag Computer & Erase 'Crash Data' on non-CAN-BUS VW/Audi vehicles.

INPA AIRBAG RESET PASSWORD
Once you have the password you can create other profiles to do whatever you wan't within the limits of the programme. This is stored in 2 places, the instrument panel (Kombi or IKE) and the EWS or is it theLCM? I can't remember - KRAFT disease!įor those interested the pasword is "repxet" (without the "") on the version I have.

NCS Expert is just a specific profile which enables you to code individual modules whereas, IIRC, NCS is set up to only give an option to code the entire car using the BMW factory installed coding. If you know the password you can create your own NCS profiles. US post office is cheapest for light or non bulky items but heavy items such as brake discs are probably better bought here.įor those struggling with NCS the Bimmerforums diagnostic forum is a good place to start. The S/H and aftermarket suppliers here have been to the same training sessions as the dealers regarding prices.Īs a general rule of thumb we pay 3 times the price for genuine parts as you do in the USA and there aren't a lot of aftermarket suppliers.īuying OEM, Lemfoerder etc, from US aftermarket suppliers is about 1/4 the price of genuine parts here so no contest even taking into account shipping costs. Used modules are thin on the ground downunder (not that many e39s here) and if you can find a used one the price will most probably be similar to the USA price for a new one. I have NCS and can code the module so no problem there. Touring is the same as the sedan so it looks as though it will be an easy replacement without having to remove the console as per the TIS.ĭid you have any trouble removing the electrical plug in the restricted space or is there enough slack in the cable to pull the ECU out and then unplug the connector? (Battery disconnected of course)

I could only see the 2 nuts at the rear and didn't know if the front had 1 or 2 nuts. I had a preliminary look to see how hard it would be to replace the ECU. So I would say you can fix it yourself for less than $100 including a used airbag module + the INPA cable. Then you need INPA cable which is $20-60 and a laptop, but pretty much everyone has a laptop these days. $1800 WTF?! That's RAPE! You can get used one from ebay shipped to you for way less than $100. I made a DIY on it, which is posted here. I think it is located in the same location in touring as it is in the sedan. TIS stated in the instructions that I would need to remove the center armrest to replace my airbag control unit. The aussie BMW dealer price for the module is of the order of $1800 so I will be getting one from the USA for US$450 -500.ĩ9 528iT M52TUI don't think you do need to remove it. I've put it in the too hard bin right now. The ECU is located under the centre armrest immediately forward of the rear heater outlets and requires the centre console to be removed to replace it. I suspect a pcb dry joint or thermal cycling failure similar to the ABS heat related failures. Mine appears to be a heat related or rather "lack of heat" internal failure of the ECU. My airbag light only comes on in cold weather below approx 10DegC and then usually resets if I turn the engine off and restart. I have the same INPA error #240 - internal ECU fault. I've installed a bypass unit for the passenger seat and the error codes 26, 22, and 17 all read error not active at the moment. I've tried both options and when I go to read the errors they are still there. This is what the message says when I try to clear:ĮDIABAS-Error "ApiCheckJobStatus: Job-Status error: instead of ! Continued script processing?" and it asks for yes or no. The only problem is when I go to clear the faults it won't let me. INPA works in doing everything else on my car including reading the airbag faults.

INPA AIRBAG RESET SOFTWARE
I purchased a bunch of software to take my A/C compressor out of transport lock mode that was caused by a previous problem and I was successful in doing that. I've had this light on for almost a year now and I'm finally getting around to dealing with it. Hey guys I'm having some trouble resetting my airbag light with INPA.
